Huge Relief

Let me annouce the good news first: I got my interview letter today. After a week of mail box obsession and frenzy text messages, I finally got it today!! And I actually heard about my interview offer from someone else instead of opening THE letter myself! But I just couldn't wait! Rory, Danielle and I, we all did that. The suspense was so intense, too intense that we all couldn't wait to tear into the envelope to unveil the truth, eventhough it wasn't our own doing.

Was at work and just finished lunch when Rory came down to break the news. I was super nervous. I initially had this great list of things I wanted to do after our huge 25% off day on Friday: check wallets, stock take, dust.., but when I heard that people have started receiving their interview letters, well, I freaked out.. I went all clammy and cold and of course I felt so sick. Even after Brett and Rory's confidence and consoling words that I will no doubt get one, I still felt sick, like I've been punched in my stomach. It wasn't until a while later that I finally got my bearings together and called home. Aunty Mary answered and I asked her whether I got any letters. She said, yes, two. And I asked, from what faculty. She said, 'Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.' That was all I needed to hear. From the big grin on my face, Brett gave me the thumbs up, (all throughout the phone call, he was crossing his fingers..how sweet is that?). And so, I gave Aunty Mary the honour of opening the letter and she read it aloud to me..I was stoked!! The date is 15/12/06, 9.35am... two weeks from now.... Out of sheer coincidence, Aajuli, Danielle and my interviews are all on the same time. Not so surprising. We were wondering how they allocated our dates and decided it should be alphabetically then. Since Danielle's surname is Tait, Aajuli's Shukla, mine is Soo, and Henry's is Wei. Besides, Rory's having his on Monday, the first day, his is Bennet, Yanan has hers on Tuesday, her surname is Hu. Makes sense.

Yesterday was a hell of a day. Glad the long haul is over. It wasS&C's 25% off day and we had to endure 12 hours of feisty customers, crowded departments, long queues.. it was very busy but a satisfying one. The shop did well and we went over our target which is good. It was clean up day today: replenishing stock, dusting, rearranging stuff..so today went pretty well. Fast.

Sam is back from Wellington. If you remember from my previous blog, around this time last year, I gushed about a Michael Vartan look-a-alike guy who worked at S&C. Now, I know, I wasn't much of a Vartan fan, give me Bradley and Yana can have Vartan, but Sam is this so good looking guy, and a rather nice, shy chap too. He's got the nicest bone structure, not too bad hair, tall, got style and hot and cute. All in a neat lil package. Plus, he's an aspiring lawyer, pretty neat huh? His eyes are this attractive dark chocolate colour, as if you could sink right into them, but at the same time, they have this mysterious vacancy in them. Look into them and they won't convey anything about their bearer. He is really attractive...sigh. Damn, get rid of all those food laden shelves so I can gaze at him from the mezzanine.
