So far...
Two more exam results have surfaced since I last posted my last post. I was in for a pleasant surprise, actually, hell of a good one, when I checked my results yesterday and saw an 'A'. Now I nearly got a mild heart attack when I saw the 'A'. I thought it was my grade for medsci and having 13% of the class score A+, I was seriously expecting to have an A+ as well. Don't wanna sound too sombong (like a show-off, snobby), but I knew I aced it...haha..But it turned out that it was for English! I was STOKED! I was really expecting a B+ or A-, but oh my, I got an A!!!!! It was a terrific feeling! After starting the semester with a B- for my first essay, I was sure English would be my bane.. but it was all good. And results for medsci were expected. Darn it, I so deserve it! Woo hoo!!!!
Have been doing nothing but working all day, all week. As I have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, my week just started on Thursday, which means tomorrow I'm nearly half way done. But call me weird, I really enjoy working. Serving customers are not as bad as it sounds, I actually enjoy it heaps..especially when you know the products la. I have heaps of great work mates too. There's Brett from my department. Yes, the gay guy who is so hilarious and always comes to work in his bubbly, cheery mood. He drove me up the wall today by singing 'Roses are red, Violets are blue, ...' the entire afternoon and ending it with different phrases, all different ones. He cracks me up. I really can't remember the last time I laughed this much, at work, and he is good company.
And then there is Bjarna. Used to work with him on Sundays, but then he got transfered down to the basement. Bjarna is very knowledgeable and knows his stuff real well. So it was quite sad when he had to leave but he couldn't stand things that were going on the shop floor so decided to cabut (go) to the basement. The one thing about Bjarna is that he kinda alters his personality to suit the ppl who work with him. I don't know whether do I know the real him, he did mention he doesn't know my social boundaries just yet. He is courteous in front of customers but according to him, he couldn't give a damn at times. But yes, he's a good work mate too. Not too up tight, laughs easily and likes to pull pranks. When I first learnt how to make paper cranes from Libby over at mens jeans, I taught Bjarna how to too. Not long after that, we were making dozens of them and dropping them down onto the menswear counter, much to Vivik and Harry's dismay. They kept the original one but chucked all the other away when we made lil baby ones later on. Give a bunch of square papers to two very free kids and this is what we do: craft. Taekwondo refinement has also been on agenda during breakies. He has just joined but gosh, during the stances today up at Aotea Centre made a 1st Dan black like me feel so small. I don't remember doing what he was doing. So there. And oh, did I mention Bjarna also has a twin, Lucas? The entire Morris gang works here at S&C. There's his twin, Lucas and older bro' Nickolas up at tableware. The funny thing is, Bjarna and Lucas are twins, but they look no where like each other. Yes, they are fraternal twins, but the differences are so huge, people actually gasp when they find out they're twins. Now, Bjarna is this 6'3" biggish Viking with fine straight hair and Lucas is around my height with very nice wavy hair. Bjarna must've gotten all the nutrients when in mommy's tummy. Naughty.
And then there's lovely Fei. She's one of the girls who works up at ladies shoes but has joined me on Sundays. She's half Japanese and half Chinese, thus explaining her exotic features. There's always something to talk about. Having grown up in various countries: China, Japan, KL, South Africa, UK.., she's well read, very opened, nice, easy going... it's great working with her. Talking just makes the day go faster. We get along well. Something tells me it's because of our eastern culture and our upbringing that makes us share similar thoughts and prospects on live. Nice. Then there's good ol' Rory, my fellow Biomed class mate and aspiring doctor. Now this is a guy who is definitely going to get a place in med school. Unlike me and my couterparts who have procrastinated and hesitated, Rory is actually damn sure this is what he wants. And he's the kinda guy that gets almost perfect scores for everything, even UMAT, and I am not exaggerating. People, his is a name to watch out for. And then, there's Andrew aka Mr. Nice guy aka Harry Potter (by Bjarna, he's mean too). Now Andrew was actually my very first Smith & Caughey mate. I started my first day at security and he was one of the first ppl I spoke to. He offered me to keep my bag in his locker, how sweet is that? Very warm and nice, generous and giving. Pure husband material. Hah. Thanks for the secretive M&Ms!
See, how can one hate working when you've got great company at a great work place? Seriously, for those considering part time jobs, join us!!!
