go ahead and freeze my arse off
Since this blog in uncensored from the adults, I know I have to keep my swearing to a minimum but that is exactly how I would like to challenge the horrid weather! I'm amazed that the tree outside my window is still surviving the 120km/h gustly wind without breaking a branch! Braving the weather and chill and since bad weather meant no Newmarket outing, Yi Shan and I decided to treat ourselves to heavy lunch at Circus Circus where we indulged in lamb shanks and kumara (sweet potato) mash. Given that the cafe was just a five minute stroll from our house, we didn't think it would be a great feat..but go ahead and prove us wrong. We spent a mighty effort trying to keep our umbrellas the right way in after being blown outside in. Yes, the usual embarassing stint of your upside down umbrella that would no doubt make you cringe in any public vicinity. And we hoped against hope that no tree branches would break and kill us..dramatic but apart from a hole in our pockets, we escaped the afternoon unscathed. :)
So today marks my 4th day back in Auckland. Really, I didn't have to come back if I didn't promise I'd work on Sunday, besides, they had extra standby staff! Argh. Oh well, I did have a blast in KL with the main indulgence being... DURIAN!!! Yes yes, day and night it was durian durian and durian...till the point of physiological imbalance! Haha.. had to suffer the consequences of too much durian. But no regrets. Durian is good. I'll let the pictures do all the talking here. *refer to the next post*
And so semester two dawns upon me in less than one week. At first I wasn't looking forward to it. The prospect of rushing to complete lab reports, biosci papers which are really becoming a pain, and the long days (my insane time table) really made me dread this semester, plus! I've decided on a whooping five papers..decided to take stats as well, after a lot of people said it will be a breeze (I'm taking your word for it...).. so crazy Cam is going to juggle five papers in 12 weeks and as said to Marilyn, 'I dunno what I'm doing, check me into the psychiatric ward!' But after browsing through my neuroscience textbook, man, am I going to enjoy this semester! I reckon it'll be fun..on the plus side, we'll be taking phamacology with the pharmacy and optom students and for those of you who know me well, great things to look forward to no? Eye candyyyyy.. so so, crazy schedules, more lab reports, long stretches between classes, stimulating course material and Mr Hot Stuff...semester two? Here I come!!!!!!!!!
You know as insane as it sounds, on Wednesdays, I have a six hour free stretch between Pharmacology which starts at 7.55am (I know, gasp for me too!) and Neuroscience at 3pm..talk about sucky schedules. The last time I had a class before eight was in high school I think. Generally, in varsity, classes don't start before eight, but as pharmocology is in Grafton, and as most biomeders have a class at 9 in the city campus, they gave us enough time to rush down to the city..how considerate. I've calculated. I have to make on average 3 rushes to or from Grafton this semester. Groan. Link bus please be on time..
