long overdue
It is now 6.45am on a Friday morning and I have spent 30 mins of my valuable time fiddling with my lap top trying to get the settings straight after Sakura, the cat, stepped on it yesterday and left a blunder I cannot fix. I was initially thinking of penning this post in the wee hours of the morning, after waking at 5am..but no. What is the relevance of this you say? Well, number one, to show the desperation I'm in for more hours in a day, hours which I won't squander away in bed. Number two, to show you I still care and would love to share my life with you. And lastly, to show how preoccupied I am that my circadian clock has been so wrongly tempered with and that sleeping at 9pm waking at 5am, or sleeping at 11pm and waking at 6am is becoming a norm for the usual 10-6 early bird Cam.
So what was the trigger in the absurdity of my bedtimes? Blame it on Harry Potter... after refusing to complete the book once and for all after I purchased it due to the Genetics struggle to comprehend Brian Murray (the posh genetics' lecturer), I spent an entire week, fighting the temptation to flip to the last chapter, barking at people to shut their mouths before anyone let slip what happened, and tucked up in bed till the wee hours to join Harry's journey of destroying the Horcruxes. So really, by the time I finished the book, and with 5 papers in tow, staying up till 11pm really meant nothing to me anymore. Can you believe it? This coming from someone who thought 10.01pm was late..my friends back in Msia would no doubt think I must be mad.
And so, 5 papers this sem..and proudly surviving. The five which are, Pharmocology, Neurocience, Genetics, Biochem and Stats. After fighting the demon of Phsiology last semester, a lot of us were wary to get started on Neuroscience, another physiology paper, but so far, all the lectures have been good and though not wildly exciting, they aren't a pain...hope it stays that way. Pharmacology is so far..pretty straight forward. With lecture slides provided in the manual and the lecturers going very slow with breaks in the middle of a 45 min lecture (and Mr. Hottie as eye candy).. waking for the 8am class is almost worth it. And now, to the bane of this semester.. the two biosci papers. After surviving three semesters of Biosci papers unscathed, I have a strong feeling the fight with Biosci papers this sem won't be painless and without blood shed. Arghhhh.. that means more effort put it no? I have my biochem test next monday... no, should say Biochem exam, seeing it's worth as much as the exam..
Well I was going to write more, but need to get ready for school...oops, should say Uni shouldn't I? One of my work mates, Andrew gets mildly offended whenever I mention school when I actually mean Uni. In his words, 'We're one level up already, we're no longer school kids.. it's Uni'... well, doesn't really matter does it? School? Uni? All the same to me. :) Till the next post..be good.
